Over 10000 professional therapists have trained at the Middlesex School of Complementary Medicine, attaining ITEC Diplomas and Post-Graduate qualifications accredited by various professional associations, such as, IPTI (Independent Professional Therapists International), CThA (Complementary Therapists Association), FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) and APNT (Association of Physical and Natural Therapists).

The Challenge

MSCM was looking to take the next step in the evolution of their online presence. This proposal covers the deployment of a refreshed site on WordPress CMS solution.

WordPress is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system. WordPress was used by more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites as of January 2015.

There is a wide range of templates and plugins available for a free or low cost. This makes designing and adding functionality far more economical than custom build websites.

We have recommended building the new site on this platform to give you the ease of management and to allow the new design to become mobile responsive rather than the current adaptive site you have now.

By improving the design of your site to ensure the website reflects a professional business will increase credibility so that site visitors, be they via a search engine or referral, will have more confidence in picking up the phone.

The DNA Solution

Courses can be organised by up to 5 taxonomies so we can create one that is based on priority in order to sort in the clients preferred way. We also ensured VAT is managed in the admin area for ease. Content is to be taken from the current site for pages, and we will migrate the data on courses into the events system.

Outcome

We selected an appropriate theme and customised the design to be in line with your brand. We also understood that the website must have the same functionality or better than the previous website. To this end, we have included the following modules: EventOn - WordPress Event Calendar Plugin, with RSS to feed courses into emails automatically and special offers and ticket sales integrated with WorldPay. We also provided options for adding an SSL to make the website GDPR compliant and a Business Directory using Business Directory Plugin for WordPress or similar.
